Even though we had our Easter weekend on the 15-16 April, music fans and the biggest artists gathered once again together for one of the biggest music industry (US) events of the year. All-day long musical acts, singing loudly and grooving, showing off cute outfits, and partying ‘till early hours, this year’s first weekend of Coachella had it all.
Let’s get a summary of what went down:
- Harry Styles
Having made quite the impression, I could not begin this narrative with anyone else than THE Harry Styles. From his wardrobe choices (bling-bling and fake fur), his intro video with rabbits (?) (Source), the 60s act theme, and many many more that amazed literally anyone in the crowd. “As it was” of course couldn’t be excluded from the artist’s setlist which already has a place in his fan’s hearts. Another surprise for the audience was the debut of his single “Boyfriends”, embedded with groovy folky touches, as well as the debut of “Late Night Talking”. But what was the surprise of his performance was his duets with Shania Twain (also known as Queen of Country Pop), with who he performed ‘Man! I Feel Like A Woman’ and ‘You’re Still The One’ and the crowd went wild!
- Megan Thee Stallion
Her set included a number of her big hits, from ‘Body’, and ‘Hot Girl Summer’ to a remix of ‘Savage ’, glamourous outfits, and levitating choreographies.
- Lil Baby
Oh yes, we had real fire on stage with this one!
But can you have a Coachella without the Eurovision, and now global!! Rock’n’Roll stars? They even gave Britney Spear’s “Womanizer” a whole new style (Watch their performance Here).
Looking forward to Coachella weekend 2! Stay tuned for more updates!
